About The Artist
My Background
I was born an artist. Whether with pencil, crayons, ink or paints, with mud, sticks, flowers or rocks, my earliest memories includes a love for creating something with whatever I could get my hands on to express my imagination through visual art. This is just who God ,The Master artist, created me to be. I am so thankful for this delightfully fun gift!
I am a born, raised, and hopefully, will go home to heaven from, Texas girl! I absolutely love the kaleidoscope of beauty of all the different Texas landscapes, extremely varied seasons and sincere goodness of most Texans. Texas scenes can be breathtaking, vastly different and always changing. Much of my inspirations in my art come from daily life in Texas. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else, I feel very blessed.
It gives me the greatest joy as an artist, to delight and bless people through my art. I always give God all the praise and the credit for my talents and any successes I have.
If my creations can stir something in a person’s heart, about a treasured memory or adventure, a dream place or something in their imagination; if I can capture a special image of someone they love, it is then that I feel successful as an artist.
My Medium
I use mainly acrylics and pastels. My latest projects have expand into watercolors and even mixed mediums.
I do some oil painting, but not as often as I used to do. I prefer the faster drying time of acrylics and low fumes.
I love to learn new techniques and try new mediums. I am always challenging myself to learn new things and grow in my artwork.
Canvases of all size are my usual surface of choice for my artwork. I also work on watercolor papers, I absolutely love natural, handmade papers. I will also paint on wood, walls, rocks, fabrics or even sweet little faces at a fun social event!
As I stated in my background, I have a passion for creating and with most anything my imagination can think up, with whatever expresses and accomplishes my goals best.
My Inspiration
My hope is, that my artwork
brings reasons for joy!
My joy...quite simply,
comes from the Lord. I am inspired by His beautiful world and my talents are supplied by Him.
I am successful in my artwork if my finished piece stir one’s heart to feel something; it is then that I have accomplished my goal as an artist.
I give God all the thanks and glory for my talents and for my victories.
Philosophy
I believe that art has the power to heal, inspire, and transform. My goal as an artist is to create work that not only looks beautiful, but also resonates with the viewer on a deeper level. I love creating art for YOU, what inspires you, what captures memories for you and what expresses your feelings.
